If you live in Cumbria and your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015, they will be due to start school in Reception year group in September 2019.
Castle Park School is currently the only School in the Kendal Primary Multi Academy Trust. The Trust is the Admissions Authority and acts as part of the coordinated admissions scheme within the Local Authority (i.e. Cumbria County Council). Applications for a place at Castle Park School should be made on the Reception Application Form SA1 or online by the closing date in January 2019.
The online form and a downloadable copy of Form SA1 can be found at the Cumbria County Council website www.cumbria.gov.uk/schooladmissions. You can also access the booklet Starting School in Cumbria which gives full details of the application process via this weblink. A paper copy of the Reception Application Form SA1 can also be obtained from the School Office.
Castle Park School’s Pupil Admission Number (PAN) is 45. This is the number of children that will be admitted on entry into the School into the Reception classes in September 2019.
The School’s Reception Admissions Policy for children starting school in September 2019 is published below. This document sets out the School’s arrangements for considering applications for a place at Castle Park School and the criteria for selecting pupils if the school is oversubscribed.
Please note that it is vital to get your application in on time. There is less chance of getting a place at your preferred school if your application is late.
Please contact the School Office if you would like to arrange a visit to the School or if you have any queries about how to apply for a place in Reception.
